Wow, it warms the heart to see that Friday affects all librarians in the
same way!  I too have no idea who or what Hinneman is, was, might become,
but I have really enjoyed all the discussion it has prompted!

Heinemann let slip that there is an international plot by publishers to
replace
all librarians with pod-people who will pay whatever a publisher asks,
thereby bankrupting all libraries and making it necessary for people
to buy information at a premium, which will be copyrighted,
and no-one will be able to pass purchased information on to a third
party (think
CD copyright, RIAA, etc) without facing life imprisonment on offshore
facilities
which make more pod-librarians.

CILIP are writing to them to ask them to stop.

Or it could just be Friday afternoon now...
