I have seen no mention on this list or any other of the recent death of Professor Jack Darbyshire, late of UCW, Bangor. Although his chair was in oceanography, he was an established expert in the field of microseisms, and was frequently to be seen at General Assemblies of the ESC, though I must say it's a while since I saw him last. Sad to hear of passing on 4 November this year. He was 85. Roger Musson
