Good morning A Housing Benefit query for this sunny Monday morning. Our housing stock is being transferred to an RSL which comprises our existing Housing Department and they are seeking access to the Housing Benefit database to establish the following: Benefit suspended In work / out of work JSA allowance award Lodgers joining/leaving household Dependant children starting work RTB checks Succession requests following death of a partner or family member Prior to serving nosps for rent arrears and court action to check the current status of benefit claims Have other authorities allowed access in these circumstances? The OIC's advice was predictable - if there is housing legislation that gives the power to share, then it's OK as long as the DP principles are observed. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
