2004 CHORD WORKSHOPS
Call for Papers
COMMERCE AND CONFLICT 1500-2000

CHORD invites all interested researchers to a workshop devoted to the
discussion of the relationship between retailing, shopping and conflict -
both international and 'localised';. Proposals are invited for
papers exploring any aspect of this topic, including e.g.: the impact of
war on retail practices and retailers shortages and rationing shopping and
patriotism selling to combatants profiteering, politics and consumer
protest.
The workshop will be held at: the University of Wolverhampton, UK
Please send proposals (including c. 150 words abstract) to the address
below by 16 January 2004. Fee: £ 8. The fee will be waived for those not
able to obtain institutional funding. For further information, please
