Dear Colleagues The pilot phase of the SMR/UAD 1st stage benchmark resources assessment has been completed with the help of Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire (+ UAD), Worcestershire, Essex, West Berkshire, Merseyside and Lincoln UAD. For the main sample phase we have selected Derbyshire, Surrey, Cambridgeshire (+ UAD), Durham, Gloucestershire, Hertfordshire, Yorkshire Dales NP, Cornwall, a Babtie, Coventry, Portsmouth, Birmingham, North Lincolnshire, Chester (+ UAD), Winchester, Worcester City (+ UAD), South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Greater London, Gloucester, Colchester UAD, Durham UAD, Newcastle UAD, Norwich UAD. Either Rachel Edwards or myself will be in touch with the selected SMRs / UADs shortly; Gill Chitty will deal with Chester and Greater London. Nearly all are volunteers, and we hope that the others can be persuaded to participate. Slightly revised versions of the two introductory documents will be sent to them and also posted on the ALGAO web-site for general information. We are also very interested in any information other SMRs / UADs outside the sample have readily to hand about the costs of dealing with some or all of the 1st stage benchmarks as identified in the table posted on the ALGAO web site.
