I don't see it as an opportunity at all. I think it is just a way to cut
costs. I don't think the government has any interest in either history
or geography in ordinary schools. What it will mean will one class
replacing two (half the time) and a more vague coverage of both
subjects, not integration and greater understanding. 

Leaving more time for more important things like self-guided ICT classes
(downloading MP3s) etc.
