4 hour "breaches" can never be a reason for senior staff going in from home. This target is not clinical need so must be resisted as only clinical need could be the reason for seniors being called in. I suggest that the next time it happens you ask the night staff to ring the duty manager to arrange urgent extra medical and nursing staff (from an agency if necessary) to resolve the chief executive's problem. Then turn over and try to go back to sleep. If this 4 hour target is all that motivates management then they must pay full rate for the job and not use Consultants goodwill as a fig leaf to cover themselves. Just say "NO".
