For instance if you have calculated the average rainfall for each month of the year you may want to have the spreadsheet calculate how much more or less rain there is each month compared to the average. In this example the average rainfall would be found in cell L25. The $ ahead of the column and row make this an absolute formula. Only L7-$L$25 was typed in. The rest were done by using the Fill Down command. Relative Formulas: Often times you will want to use a formula that adds or subtracts to values in your spreadsheet. In this example the temperature range for each month was calculated by subtracting the low from the high for each month. No one would want to type this in 12 times. You would enter the first one in cell N7 and then use the Fill Down* shortcut to copy the formula. In every case you would want to use the L and M value beside each other. The computer automatically changes this for you. This is called a relative formula. It modifies the formula relative to the cell the answer is going into. Syniadau? Awgrymiadau? Cynghorion?
