Hi Ben I think you need to specify exactly what type of authority list/ thesaurus you are asking for. Is it a general subject one covering the whole universe? Or within certain subject disciplines? It's not really possible to specify one standard authority list or thesaurus or subject vocabulary (I'm assuming you are talking about subject here) for all of UK metadata implementations as the need of each implementation will be different, with cross-over amongst certain communities, subject disciplines, etc. Best Sarah Ben Ryan wrote: >All, > I am going to use VDEX but I don't think we have the resources to build the authority list/thesaurus. > > Is anybody out there using an authority list/thesaurus, and if so which one(s). > > Is there any work ongoing to create a spec/standard for UK metadata. > >Regards, > Ben > >----------------------------------------------- >Dr Ben Ryan >HLSI Software Development Manager >University of Huddersfield >Tel: 01484 473587 >E-mail: [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]> >----------------------------------------------- > > -- ******************************************* Ms. Sarah Currier Coordinator / Research Fellow Educational Content Special Interest Group (EC-SIG) CETIS (Centre for Educational Technology Interoperability Standards) Rm. 2.08B, Centre for Academic Practice, University of Strathclyde Graham Hills Building, 50 George Street Glasgow G1 1QE, Scotland, United Kingdom Tel.: +44 (0)141 548 4573 Fax: +44 (0)141 553 2053 E-mail: [log in to unmask] Mob.: +44 (0)7980 855 801 Web (EC-SIG): http://www.cetis.ac.uk/educational-content/ Web (Dept.): http://www.strath.ac.uk/Departments/CAP/ *******************************************
