I can't remember whether it has been mentioned before on this list, but if you not you might be interested to know that the children's writer Geraldine McCaughrean has for some time been working on a new children's version of FQ, so the tradition is not dead! Given McCaughrean's track record I expect the resulting book (if and when it comes) to be of the highest order, but it doesn't seem to have been picked up on the Amazonian radar as yet. Charlie
