GMCDP Greater Manchester Coalition of Disabled People (text only logo).

 

Either side of the GMCDP logo are two drawings. the first is a simple stick drawing of a white disabled woman, her fists pulled towards her chest like the sign language for 'powerful' and a black disabled man, a wheelchair user pointing to himself. the second  of an Muslim woman with short arms next to a short white woman with a stick who is reaching up with a pen having just finishing writing 'Pride' on her friends t-shirt.


Powerful Me!

The Greater Manchester Coalition of Disabled People would like to invite disabled people and allies in Oldham to a free, fully accessible and BSL interpreted event on Saturday 11th October 2003.

Here is a simple drawing of a stage and curtain, inside
which is some musical notes and two masks one smiling and one sad like the ones used to represent theatre. One of the masks is dark skinned and wearing an eye patch and the other is pale skinned and has a facial disfigurement.


   1 till 4 p.m.

   Learn how to take control, be
   confident and powerful!


   4.30 till 5.30 p.m.

   Come and design your own t-shirt slogan.

   5.30 p.m. onwards

Free food and entertainment by local disabled superstars!

If you don't fancy that, then why not just drop in during the day to meet up with friends old and new.

Come for as long or as short a time as you wish.


GMCDP may be able to reimburse some reasonable PA / assistance costs, Child Care Costs and Assistance with transport costs.
