This two-day course will provide a comprehensive introduction to the essential aspects of the Sports
Physiotherapists role. The course has been designed specifically for the Chartered Physiotherapist
with little or no sports physiotherapy experience. Final year undergraduate students will also be
welcome.
Day one will consist of lectures covering:
¨ Pitchside and Practice management ¨ Common Injuries related to Football, Rugby and Hockey,
¨ Maintenance / progression of fitness during injury
Day two will cover:
¨ Common injuries related to racket sports and swimming, emphasis on the shoulder
¨ Mid-Late stage rehabilitation ¨ Musculoskeletal Profiling and Screening
