Due to time restrictions the closing date for applications will be the 5th of September. Interviews will take place in the week beginning the 8th of September, with a start date near the beginning of October 2003. Proposals are invited in the fields of Knowledge Technologies, Human Computer Interfaces and Learning Sciences. We are particularly interested in projects related to the areas of: the Semantic Web, Semantic Web Services, Knowledge Modelling and Ontologies, Automated Semantic Annotation using Information Extraction technologies, Knowledge Modelling for Knowledge Management, Knowledge Technologies to support cultural heritage and telepresence technology. KMi is a 60-strong, rapidly expanding interdisciplinary laboratory founded at the pioneering Open University in 1995. KMi is located in a purpose designed lab at the OU's main campus in Milton Keynes, an hour from London. KMi undertakes high-profile advanced research and development in Knowledge Media: the convergence of Cognitive and Learning Sciences, Artificial Intelligence, Multimedia, Telematics, and Human-Computer Interaction. We offer a stimulating and well-endowed research environment, widely acknowledged to be at the leading edge of research and development, particularly in the semantic web, knowledge management, open supported learning, and web media.
