Good to hear a bit about you all.
As for me, I'm a clinical nurse specialist, also trained as a group analyst, working a couple of days per week on the same unit as Annabelle (The YPU at Nightingale Hospital, a 13-bedded private psychiatric hospital in Marylebone, London).
I run a variety of groups, most following an unstructured group-analytic model loosely around set themes such as 'relationships group', goals group', etc., and also a creative writing group. And also 'staff development group', which is used sometimes for supervision, sometimes to address dynamics in the team.
Mostly the young people are between 14 and 17, and come from 'NHS overspill' (a euphemism for the totally inadequate CAMHS provision within statutory services over here). Occasionally we have a privately paying client.
Many of the depressed, self harming residents are struggling through the aftermath of sexual abuse, neglect etc.; many of the psychotic residents are refugees from war zones.
