The 1-10 scale has been tested and retested many times for
test-retest reliability, by means of the VAS studies. It came out good tot
excellent. The only thing is that one has to clearly explain that 10 =
completely impossible. So, the bigger the problem, the bigger the number
should be.

The use of the PSQ is what we do in the clinic
for the most part, i.e. link impairments with disfunction. Giving it a
numeric value seems to be a good idea. I'm curious as to the reliability
of the scoring process. In other words a 1 or a 4 score may not be
the same to every person. Even with the same person as their own
control it may not work. The problem is the age old problem of giving a
numeric score to a subjective or atleast poorly defined scale e.g. 1-10; 1
being not bothersome at all and 10 completely limiting. I would like to
hear your comments on this. Thank you!
