BIGF - the British Isles GPS archive Facility (a NERC Facility)
http://www.bigf.ac.uk now has a public user Forum at
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk. The list is relevant to past, present
and prospective users of the archive.

Our broad aim in establishing this list is to make announcements on
archive operation and news items, to enable discussion between GPS
data users, and to encourage cross-fertilisation of ideas and research
between satellite positioning technologists and experts in other
fields across the spectrum of science.

BIGF has enabled a wide range of research, recent examples
including:

Determination of tropospheric water vapour content (near real-time
and post-processed) as an aid to weather forecasting.
Separation of vertical land movement from apparent rise in sea
level.
Ocean tide loading studies.
Kinematic vehicle tracking.
Ionospheric scintillation effects on GPS observations.
GPS/GIS integration.
Post-glacial rebound studies
Long-term tide gauge monitoring.

This is also a forward notice of a planned user workshop to be held
at the IESSG at the University of Nottingham towards the end of the
year.

Please circulate this mail to any colleagues you think might be
