MURDER AND MAYHEM IN THE MARE NOSTRUM; CONTEMPORARY CONFIGURATIONS OF MEDITERRANEAN DETECTIVE GENRES 5-7 July 2004. Monash University, prato Campus (Florence) An international conference organised between Manchester Metropolitan University and Monash University devoted to literary and cinematic detective genres from any country bordering the Mediterranean. We are seeking original, unpublished papers of twenty minutes' duration on any aspect of late 20th-century or 21st-century fiction and film within the genre, or the representation and symbolic value of the Mediterranean in detective fiction and film from other areas. Please submit a one-page abstract as a Word document to the appropriate memnber of the conference panel by 1st November 2003.
