Please could users change the 'Subject' when they change the subject! These messages are no longer about Edexcel Award Claims as the title suggests - it would be preferable to be able to select those we wish to read if possible.

Thank you.

Sue

If you are talking about the NQF4 form we generate them from our system and
OCR are fine with this.

We are looking to go to Pitmans for our full time secretarial students but
looking at their new paperwork they seem to be going the same route as OCR.
I don't think that there is any comprehension of how we have to apply this
paperwork in the conduct of examinations, within the college structure.
Having to hand write their forms is beyond belief. When I have asked OCR if
we can generate our own version they have said no. Is this progress???

Do you use OCR (RSA)? This month of June we have almost been driven mad
with the amount of paperwork required for Text Processing, Certificate in
Admin etc, not to mention CLAIT PLUS. How can they justify all this
additional work? As to unit numbering for the Certificate in Admin - the
number of times I have supplied the wrong papers to individual exams is
quite alarming, all due to the subject codes now being used by OCR (RSA).
Time to make a move, I think.

I hope that the new NQF paper work requirements for all Boards will be
included in these discussions. We are constantly being requested to reduce
the amount of paperwork that our tutors have to complete due to the overload
they are facing and I thought that the government was already recognising
the effect of bureaucracy on the admin load of tutors. Not a lot of sign of
any reduction of paperwork and fewer chances to automate the systems as far
as I can see.

I get the feeling that almost every institution in the country has had the
same problem with the ineligibility reports and various other issues
relating to the entry process with EDEXCEL. I am on the planning group for
the next AOC/ACRA Examinations Officers Conference, we will be meeting next
month and I will be raising the issue again about EDEXCEL and its various
admin procedures.

We also received a reasonably lengthy report from EDEXCEL for students that
were ineligible, in virtually all cases there wasn't a problem or Edexcel
had entered students for the wrong units. I have written to EDEXCEL
expressing my concerns over the procedure. Two students in particular have
been sorted out on three separate occasions but further ineligibility
reports were received from EDEXCEL.

I would also urge anyone who has had problems to contact EDEXCEL in writing
otherwise the service offered will never change.

ineligibility report

As you know, AoC continues to work on behalf of colleges with the awarding
bodies to look at how we can make processes more college friendly. This
year, as last, we have received information from Edexcel about a
considerable problem over ineligible student entries for GNVQ and VCE
awards. While we cannot verify that all the information is accurate the
scale of the problem ranges between 2 and 4% in some areas. This affects
several thousand students.

We would urge all colleges to read carefully the recent letter received from
Edexcel and contact them directly with any queries in writing to:
