The focus of the edition will be concerned with international issues in primary health care. Ideally papers would provide a trans-national analysis and papers that provide a comparative analysis of different funding or delivery systems would be very welcome. In addition contributions of the following types would also be particularly welcome: 1. papers that seek to revisit one or all of the WHO principles of PHC e.g equity, participation etc 2. papers concerned with the Adelaide Conference action areas of the health of women or food and nutrition. 3. papers concerned with governance issues in PHC (including research governance) However this list is only intended to be indicative and potential authors are very welcome to discuss the suitability of a proposed paper by contacting the guest editor at the address given below. All papers will be subjected to the normal peer review process. In the first instance authors should submit an abstract/overview of their proposed paper of about 500-700 words by 30 June 2003 Authors will then be asked to produce a first draft by 30 September, with a final draft by 31st Jan 04. Final papers will be between 3000-4000 words.
