italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies You are invited to Leeds University Teachers' Conference in Modern Languages and Linguistics, Wednesday 18th June 2003, 10-4. Venue: School of Modern Languages and Cultures, Michael Sadler Building, University of Leeds (main campus). The Teachers' Conference will be the University's 2002-3 celebration of modern languages and cultures, introducing cutting- edge research and pedagogical practice in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures. It will consist of a series of core sessions, introducing the School, its staff and its facilities, and subject-specific sessions, run by a number of individual departments: French, Italian, German, Spanish and Portuguese, Russian and Slavonic Studies, and Linguistics and Phonetics. The subject-specific sessions will comprise research papers, showcasing current work in particular departments, presentations based on current teaching practice and recent pedagogical innovations, and question-and-answer sessions on departmental admissions policy.
