Subject: SMR Software
Importance: HighI wonder if anyone could help please?
I am looking for a new software package for our SMR. The requirements are:
It must use a ‘thin client’ database suitable for running over a network, and have web / Intranet access capability
If possible it should be based on MSAccess 2002 and SQLServer / Oracle. NB older versions of Access will not do.
It should integrate fully with ArcView 8
It should be able to handle 33,000 records immediately with scope for expansion to at least twice that over the next few years.
It needs to be able to handle large numbers of digital images and linked documents
It needs to be reliable and fully supported
If possible, there will already be a community of users we can join.
Am I wrong in thinking that Exegesis wouldn’t met this spec, but that there is a company in Oxford that may have a suitable SMR package? Unfortunately I don’t have details.
If anyone can suggest options or products or knows of people using software that might suit us please let me know – and if possible could I have some contact details?
I would be very grateful for any feedback.
John
