The RUSSIAN INFORMATION GUIDE is a well established annual guide updated each Summer by the SCRSS, and lists Russian contacts, courses, societies, services, agencies of all types in the UK in 17 different categories. It is an excellent starting point for information of all sorts on Russia, and it costs only 5 pounds 50 pence including postage (Cheques to "SCRSS"). It includes a limited amount of advertising at reasonable rates. John Cunningham of the SCR is now collecting information for the 2003-2004 volume. Listing in the Guide is FREE. John has asked me to INVITE Russian Departments in the United Kingdom to CONTRIBUTE to the 2003-2004 volume. May I suggest you look at the current volume, to see the type of entry. A typical entry would contain the basic information: address, tel/fax/e-mail/website/ and contact name, information about courses and services offered. Better short and clear rather than trying to cram too much in. Languages for All courses, Language Centre courses and Continuing Education courses at universities, which are open to the public, are also very welcome and will be included in established listings. Your article should be sent as a Word file attachment to John Cunningham at [log in to unmask] The Guide is published by the Society for Co-operation in Russian and Soviet Studies, 320 Brixton Road, London SW9 6AB Tel: 020 7274 2282 Fax: 020 274 3230. The SCRSS is the successor to the Society for Cultural Relations with the USSR, founded in 1924 by UK intellectuals after the recognition of the USSR by the British Government. It survives as an independent membership organisation with its own premises and offers library services (picture, art and architecture collections), a lecture programme and films. It houses a unique archive on the British Left and its relations with the USSR.
