Iraq
http://www.frw.uva.nl/ggct/awg
The editors of THE ARAB WORLD GEOGRAPHER (AWG) are pleased to announce the posting of its 2003 Forum on "The war on/in Iraq." This forum consists of nine essays specially written by scholars from various disciplines who have accepted our invitation to contribute to this forum. It should be noted that our invitation to contribute thoughts was extended on the 10th, 11th and 12th days of the war and the essays were completed by the week of the fall of Baghdad. In addition, four more contributors (prominent political geographers based in the U.S.) were invited to prepare commentaries on these nine essays. Their commentaries will be also posted on the AWG website as soon as these commentaries been received and approved by the editors of the journal.
We encourage you to use these essays in teaching and share them with those who have been following the news of the war and who have been stimulated (and shaken) by its consequences and geopolitical implications. We are planning to publish these nine essays along with the forthcoming four commentaries in the upcoming issue of THE ARAB WORLD GEOGRAPHER, Volume 6, No. 1 (2003).
