Dear all,

I am sure that you are all aware that this is in effect an advert for TFPL, not that I have a problem with this, but just so that you are aware.

I am also responsible for FoI implementation in a government department etc and a member of the FoI Practitioners Group. In my instance, this does not endow me with either special skills or knowledge. Those able to provide this are likely to be from the Lord Chancellors' Department (LCD) who run the FoI Practitioners group. I await material from LCD on FoI training and awareness and am told this may not be released until 2004.

I believe that Collin Crooks is from Department of Education and Skills and may therefore have insight into the problems of education etc.

TFPL Freedom of Information staff awareness programmes

It is vital that your workforce is aware of the background to and the implications of Freedom of Information (FOI) legislation.

TFPL experts can work with you to develop customised content for a staff awareness programme to ensure effective implementation .  The programme may take the form of briefing session presentations, including questions and answers, or electronic content for your intranet, or a combination of both.  We will work with your internal experts to ensure that your own processes are reflected in the content.

TFPL's FoI Expert Adviser is Collin Crooks, who is responsible for implementing FoI in a major government department and for introducing greater accountability and a culture of openness.  He is a member of the Government's FoI Practitioners Group and serves on other working groups.
