italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies

Thanks for your reply.
In my edition of Cristo (Oscar Mondadori 1981) it's on page 210. In a long passage near the end where he thinks over his experience in the South & ponders over various problems (State, Society, Politics) at one point Levi says...
'Questo problema, nel suo triplice aspetto, preesisteva al fascismo;[.....................] ricreeranno uno Stato altrettanto, e forse pių, lontano della vita, idolatrico e astratto, perpetueranno e peggioreranno, sotto nuovi nomi e nuove bandiere, l'eterno fascismo italiano'.

Sciascia refers to this concept on numerous occasions.

For example, a proposito del centrosinistra:

'Quest'evento, in realta' destinato a provocare un cambiamento radicale
nella vita politica italiana, una volta di piu' era stato vanificato
dall'eterna immutabilita' dell'eterno fascismo italiano' (Sciascia, "La
Sicilia come metafora; intervista di Marcelle Padovani' (Milano: Mondadori,
  1979), p. 70)

In the same book, Sciascia says: 'Resto sensibile all'eternamente possibile
  fascismo italiano' (p. 85).

Where exactly in 'Cristo...' is the phrase?

'L'eterno fascismo degli italiani' - I have now come across this
expression a couple of times, if not more. The first time was in Cristo
si č fermato a Eboli but now I can no longer trace references to the
others - I think somewhere in either Sciascia or Eco. Could anyone help
me pinpoint its who, where & when (& why)?
