Dear Colleagues

The Translation Research Summer School is being held again this year.
This is a two-week intensive research training course in translation
studies, aimed at research students and at junior staff with an
interest in research.

The 2003 session will be held at University College London (UCL) from
23 June till 4 July. The Summer School is a joint initiative of UCL,
UMIST and the University of Edinburgh.

The syllabus includes courses on general research methods, theories of
translation and intercultural studies, research methods in translation
and intercultural studies, and a module on literary and historical
translation studies.

Instructors include Daniel Abondolo (UCL), Mona Baker (UMIST),
Charlotte Bosseaux (UCL), Keith Harvey (UMIST), Theo Hermans (UCL),
Maeve Olohan (UMIST), George Paizis (UCL), Yasir Suleiman (Edinburgh),
Seben Susam-Sarjeva (Edinburgh) and Jeremy Munday (Surrey). Guest
speaker on Friday 27 June is Maria Tymoczko (Massachusetts).
