Dear Colleagues,

ESPAnet, the Network for European Social Policy Analysis, brings to your
attention:

1. Young Researcher Prize
The Journal of European Social Policy and ESPAnet are offering a prize to
the best paper by a young researcher presented at any of the ESPAnet
conferences, workshops or seminars in 2003. The papers will be judged by an
international panel of senior scholars in the field of European social
policy.
The prize-winning paper will be published in the Journal of European Social
Policy in 2004, and the winner will also receive 1 year's free subscription
to the Journal.
Submitted papers should be 6-8000 words long, and address any aspect of
European social policy, including comparative and European Union studies.
Single country studies offering an innovative perspective beyond the single
country will also be accepted.
The submitted paper must have been presented at one of the ESPAnet
conferences, workshops or seminars in 2003.
The authors must, at the closing date, not yet have been awarded a
doctorate.
Closing date for submissions: 31 December 2003

2. EISS (European Institute of Social Security) Workshop for Young
Researchers
10-17 May 2003, Marstrand, Sweden. The Workshop for Young Researchers is
aiming at giving young researchers (with at least one year research
experience) a forum for discussing their research topic and the opportunity
to get acquainted with methodological issues related to comparing social
security systems of various countries.
