medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I have long thought that the Cordoban episode could be read from more than one perspective. Does any List Member know of a good, scholarly account?

Today (11. March) is the feast day of:
Eulogius of Cordoba (d. 859) Eulogius was one of the martyrs of Cordoba.
He was imprisoned for a time along with the bishop and other priests when
persecution was provoked by a wave of Christian attacks on Muhammad.
During this time, E. wrote several apologiae of the martyrs. When the
archbishop of Toledo died, E. was chosen to succeed him, but was killed
before he could be consecrated. This was provoked because E. hid a Moorish
convert to Christianity. The apostate was discovered, and when implicated
E. publicly denounced Muhammad. He was beheaded.
