Dear all,

The Archaeology Data Service (ADS) is happy to announce the release of a
resource for learning and teaching on the historic environment:

http://ads.ahds.ac.uk/project/patois/module4/index.html

This tutorial looks at the excavations of the burial vault at Christ
Church, Spitalfields and at life and death in 18th and 19th century
London. It introduces the records from those excavations, from
subsequent research by forensic archaeologists and historians and looks
at issues surrounding the excavation of human remains. This tutorial
introduces original research resources available on the Internet and
suggests ways of using them in inter-disciplinary research.

This is one of a series of tutorials that are being developed with JISC
funding for the JISC development programme to enhance services for
learning and teaching. Other tutorials look at monument inventories,
re-using digital archives and electronic publication in archaeology.

All comments are welcome!

With best wishes and apologies for cross-posting,

Kate
