[EMS-NEWS] Undergraduate Studio Absences
Dear Undergraduate Studio Users,

there have been an increasing number of absences for studio time in the past few days.

Undergraduates - attendance for your regular weekly studio bookings is mandatory as part of the course requirement.

A number of you will be receiving (or will have already received) Warning Letters this week due to the fact that you have missed two successive bookings. If you are again absent the following week you WILL lose your right to book extra studio time for the REMAINDER OF TERM!, and will be notified so.

May I remind you of the EMS Booking Procedures, as detailed in the EMS Handbook (available online on EMS LEARN)  :

---
Absence -

If you are absent or more than 15 minutes late for a booking you forfeit the right to the whole booking and may also forfeit the right to book an additional 2 hours the following week. You WILL be marked absent even if you use other studio time that week.

Notified Absence -
If you inform the Studio Manager (Ian Stonehouse) at least 1 hour in advance of your booking that you will be absent, for a valid reason such as illness or emergency, this will be treated as a notified absence .

If you persistently miss or are late for bookings you WILL forfeit the right for an extra 2 hours, over and above course requirements for the remainder of the term or four weeks, whichever is longer.
