Re your question: Is it possible to have a successful records management policy relying on only the 'usual'.... My comment is that too many times technology is purchased to provide a solution when the actual processes haven't yet been fully developed. Your records management program should stand by itself first before you purchase any kind of enterprise/document management software. I started a records management program and successfully ran it for years using word processing software and before that just on paper. In short, document all your processes and if you need to purchase software to address these processes and not the other way around. Cheers! John A.
