CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS Entrepreneurship in Transition Economies July 3-5, 2003 - Kyiv, Ukraine Kyiv Mohyla Business School (kmbs) is pleased to announce an International Conference on Entrepreneurship in transition economies. A limited number of scholars and qualified interested practitioners will gather July (3/4/5) in Kyiv, at the Kyiv Mohyla Academy’s Kyiv Mohyla Business School for a three day conference and seminar program on entrepreneurship, managerial leadership, and business ethics in transition economies. Academics and practitioners are invited to participate in the conference, and to submit research papers in areas pertaining to entrepreneurship in transition economies particularly in the former Soviet Union, Poland and the Black Sea Region countries. Opportunities will be provided for papers selected for presentation at the conference to also be published in an edited volume. Abstracts and excerpts of all conference papers will appear in “Kyiv Mohyla Business Studio” - the Ukrainian-language scholarly journal published quarterly by kmbs. PARTICIPATION AND SUBMISSION OF PAPERS: Paper submissions will be accepted from faculty, dissertation-stage graduate students studying at accredited academic institutions, and all practitioners who wish to apply. While any submissions in the field of entrepreneurship in transition economies are acceptable, papers focusing on the following topics are especially welcome: - Start-up entrepreneurs and their role in the transition from state socialism - Leadership styles of entrepreneurs and managers in post-Soviet states - Entrepreneurship, innovation and economic growth in transition economies - Business ethics in a post-Soviet environment The deadline for submission of paper abstracts is March 31, 2003. All submitted papers must be readable in standard PDF or Microsoft Word formats. Final acceptance decisions are expected in mid-May. Limited funding is available for travel to and accommodation in Kyiv, Ukraine.
