It's early days for us as yet and therefore I wouldn't be planning to go to the meeting in APril, but I am very shocked by the attitude of Susan Lisk. Looking on a map, Northallerton is not bad as a central venue - more accurate still would be Newcastle or Carlisle. Bear in mind that some of us can never get to a meeting and home again in a day - in fact one meeting is usually 2 overnights (and neither does the April date suggested fall within our Easter holidays - kids here are off 1st - 14th April). Not very encouraging to someone in the north of Britain on the brink of signing/paying up to HBSMR!!! Firstly, the date falls within the school Easter holidays, and will certainly be a factor for those of us who are parents. Although I know that the HBSMR issues and development decisions need to be sorted as early as possible within the financial year, could we possibly have the meeting postponed until the following week? Secondly, while applauding the willingness of N Yorks County Council to host the meeting, if the meeting is an important one with far-reaching decisions to be made, can we not have a more central venue? The location will certainly be difficult for some of us to reach within a day, and if you want to maximize attendance for the discussion and decision-making, a more centrally accessible location seems preferable. The list is intended to act as a distribution list to all HBSMR users, but also to host discussion of HBSMR related issues and future developments. All current HBSMR users are encouraged to join as soon as possible, and any interested non-users are most welcome to subscribe as well. Postings to the list can be made by list members only. To join the list please send an email to [log in to unmask] no subject or body text required I have also arranged a location and provisional date for the next meeting of the HBSMR user group. This will be a very important meeting where the platform and content of the next software upgrade will be decided. North Yorkshire County Council have kindly offered to provide a venue, so the meeting will be held in Northallerton on Friday 25th April. If anyone knows of a problem with this date can they let me know in the next couple of days so I can make alternative arrangements. Best wishes Sarah ***************************************** Sarah Poppy Sites and Monuments Record Officer Archaeology Section Education, Heritage and Libraries Cambridgeshire County Council Direct Dial: 01223 717312 (x7312) Office Fax: 01223 362425 Email: [log in to unmask] *************************************************************************** The information in this email is confidential and may be legally privileged.
