HIGHLANDS WORKSHOP, BGS, EDINBURGH, 1st-2nd May 2003.

The Highlands Workshop discussion meeting will be hosted in 2003 by the
British Geological Survey, the meeting to take place in Murchison House,
Edinburgh on the 1st and 2nd May, 2003. The meeting is supported by the
Tectonic Studies Group of the Geological Society of London.

As in previous years, the workshop will take the form of a series of
informal talks and poster sessions which aim to stimulate discussion in the
time set aside for that purpose. The workshop is intended to range across
all aspects of current research into the Orthotectonic Caledonides of
Scotland and their lateral equivalents in Ireland. Presentations on
geological problems in adjacent areas which might contribute to the debate
surrounding current controversies in the orthotectonic belt are welcomed.
