Diolch am hynny. Doeddwn i ddim wedi ymateb o'r blaen, oherwydd mod i i fod
i ffonio'r Ganolfan Gymreig yn ol pan oedd y "Welsh speaker" yno. Chwarae
teg iddynt, 'roedden nhw wedi bod wrthi y bore 'ma yn trafod y mater, heb
fod yn sicr eu hunain ynghylch y math o "conducting" oedd mewn golwg, gan
fod y "conductors" yn gwneud gwaith rhywbeth tebyg i ffisiotherapi ("a lot
of manipulation"). 'Roeddwn i wedi dechrau meddwl efallai bod y gair yn
gyfieithiad gwael o'r Hwngareg!
Ers hynny dw i wedi dod ar draws gwefan sy'n disgrifio'r gwaith:
"Conductive Education as the name suggests, is an educational approach. Its
aim is to help children and adults with motor disorders learn to overcome
problems of movement as a way of enabling them to live more active and
independent lives.
"All things are made to feel important in Conductive Education. It's about
your whole being, not just about being taught to speak or walk." (Parent of
six year old boy)
The successful practice of Conductive Education relies on professional,
specialist teachers called 'conductors' who take responsibility for enabling
the physical, intellectual, social and personal development of the children
and adults concerned. Children's educational development is catered for
through the National Curriculum.
Conductors motivate children and adults to acquire the skills they need to
find their own solutions to the practical problems of daily living. This
teaching style encourages the individual to become an active participant in
their own learning process by creating situations which will maximise the
chance of achieving success."
Wel, mae'n debyg bod hynny'n ymwneud a thywys y plant yn eu blaen, felly mi
a i am "Addysg Dywysol", fel yr oedd Bruce wedi'i awgrymu yn y lle cyntaf -
ac mi a i'n ol at y Ganolfan i ddweud hynny wrthynt, i sicrhau cysondeb!
