medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture When the heading "Oratio" occurs in a miscellany or in a collection of a single author's work it is often best translated as "Prayer". Unless there's a contrary tradition in the case of Books of Hours, that's the term I'd prefer there as well. "Oration" suggests something longer and more elaborate.
