Dear colleagues

BEST WISHES FOR A PEACEFUL AND HAPPY NEW YEAR

Welcome to ENTER 2003
IFITT's 10th Global Travel & Tourism Technology and eBusiness Forum
focusing on: Technology on the Move.
See final programme + register online www.ifitt.org/enter

As the overall chair of ENTER2003, I am pleased to introduce the most
comprehensive programme ever for ENTER's 10th Birthday. With more than 150
presentations over 3 days, ENTER is THE event in Tourism and
Technology. It incorporates 3 main tracks, namely Research, Destinations
and Industry. The tracks are designed in a way that enables exchange of
information and interaction. This year 8 foundation classes have been
added. So far more than 400 delegates have registered and there are few
remaining places as well as few sponsorship opportunities still open.

Both destination and industry programmes tackle a wide range of
contemporary issues. Wireless and mobile communications prevail this
programme as we look into the future of the ICTs in Tourism. Herewith we
present to you the most up to date provisional programme. All speakers are
confirmed at this stage but we reserve the right to change parts of the
programme, speakers or sessions at a later stage.

In the meanwhile the Research Track has attracted an unprecedented 120
paper submissions and these have gone through a thorough evaluation
process by the Research Committee. The best 50 academic papers will be
presented at the ENTER2003 and will be included in the
proceedings. Another 20 presentations on "work on progress" will also be
presented. For the first time ever, 10 presentations of cutting edge
European Commission research projects will also be featured whilst several
European Commission projects are included in the main programme (indicated
by yellow characters). The PhD workshop will also attract more than 15
current doctoral researchers and some leading supervisors from around the
world.

As you would appreciate, building such a comprehensive, dynamic and
forward looking programme requires high specialist insight and hard
work. The track teams and chairs, the Research Programme Committee, the
ENTER local host committee and the ENTER2003 committee have been working
tirelessly for a year to build this programme up and I would like to
express the appreciation of our community for their hard work.

Looking forward to welcome you to Helsinki, Finland - the coolest place on
earth with the warmest hospitality.
