Dear Zooarchs, I have a query from a colleague about a well preserved dog described below. Can any work be done on the hair such as identification to breed? A large dog said to be of greyhound/labrador size has been found on a site in Southampton in Roman levels. It was very well preserved. He was wearing a bronze collar around his neck which corroded and preserved quite a lot of hair and skin all around the circumference of the collar, inside. The dimensions of the collar are roughly 20cm in circumference and 5cm in width. Many thanks Sylvia Warman 20A Moyser Road Streatham London SW16 6SA 0208 677 4871 07796956577 [log in to unmask] _________________________________________________________________ Sign-up for a FREE BT Broadband connection today! http://www.msn.co.uk/specials/btbroadband
