Libraries and institutions are invited to request
complimentary copies of the Scottish Civic Trust's Buildings at Risk Bulletin
2002-2003. The publication normally retails at £7.
The Buildings at Risk Register for Scotland is
maintained by the Scottish Civic Trust on behalf of Historic Scotland. It is a
national inventory of buildings deemed to be of architectural, historical or
design merit that are currently at risk through lack of maintenance or
occupation, or through damage from the elements. The vast majority of buildings
on the Register are listed and/or in conservation areas. The full Register comprises some 1,300 buildings currently deemed to be
at risk. However, the Trust publishes details of some 100 or so of these
buildings in its annual printed Bulletin.
The next Bulletin will appear in May, and the Trust
has a number of copies of the 2002-2003 Bulletin that it is now keen to dispose
of . The Bulletin is a professionally produced
and printed publication of some 150 pages in A4 format, and features full
details on some real architectural gems that are in danger of being lost. Each
record contains a full architectural description and a resume of the building's
development history. The Bulletin also features a number of essays on issues in
architectural conservation.
The publication would probably prove most relevant
to institutions with schools of architecture, planning and/or
conservation.
To request a complimentary copy of the Bulletin, or
for details on how to subscribe to future editions, please contact Duncan
Chappell at [log in to unmask] You are
welcome to request multiple copies, although the Trust would need to invoice you
for copies over 2.
Best wishes,
Duncan Chappell
