To: [log in to unmask] Dear all Apologies for cross-posting The Wellcome Library has launched psci-comlit <http://psci-com.org.uk/pscicomlit/>, a new bibliographic database, available free-of-charge. The database has been developed to provide a searchable source of journal, newspaper and book references on science communication, public engagement with science and the wider issues of science in society. A broad range of journals, newspapers and new book acquisitions are scanned to create the descriptive records that populate the database. In addition, the records are used to produce a monthly current awareness bibliography, also accessible from the psci-comlit page. Other topics covered include public attitudes towards science, science writing, science centres, science and the media and science education. The psci-comlit database is located on the psci-com <http://psci-com.org.uk/> web site, a gateway to high quality web sites on similar topics. Further features of the web site include an electronic calendar of conferences, workshops and events and access to an electronic discussion forum, also called psci-com. psci-comlit was created and is being continually expanded by the Wellcome Library in collaboration with the BIOME team at the University of Nottingham. There are currently over 1200 records which date back to 1999. If you have any comments or suggestions about the new database, please contact Louise Simon at mailto:[log in to unmask] Louise Simon Information Officer Wellcome Trust Library for the History and Understanding of Medicine 183 Euston Road London NW1 2BE Telephone: +44 (0)20 7611 7316 Fax: +44 (0)020 7611 8726 mailto:[log in to unmask] The Wellcome Trust is a registered charity, no.210183.
