If you have comments or questions you think should be raised at any of the working lunches please submit them to me via e-mail. These will be incorporated into the programme for each lunch to make sure the events focus on relevant issues.
Whether you are attending one of the lunches or not we are still interested in hearing your comments.
Reports of each working lunch will be available on the BA website in late September.
Working Lunches
Attendance at each working lunch costs £15 for members of the BA or £20 for non members and is covered by a weekly, daily or morning festival pass. This price also included a sandwich lunch.
Pre booking is essential. Places are limited so early booking is recommended.

Freelancing
This workshop will provide the opportunity for freelancers to share common experiences and discuss, with representatives from the organisations employing them, the different work options available. Participants, lead by Melanie Smallman, Think-Lab Ltd and Dianne Stilwell, Institute of Physics will explore how to create better links between freelancers and the organisations that need them.

Reaching Socially Excluded Audiences
The workshop will explore how the science communication community can facilitate the enhancement of inclusiveness in science communication? Vicki Brightman, The National Space Centre, and Khadija Khan, the Science Museum, will provide examples of recent attempts to broaden participation and reach socially excluded audiences.

Finding Funding
What makes a successful funding application? What are the common mistakes made when applying for funds? How can you turn good ideas into funding certainties? Dr Veronica McCabe, The Wellcome Trust and Professor Frank Burnett, University of the West of England will share advice and experiences of applying for project funding.
This working lunch will be followed by an optional workshop on The Wellcome Trust Awards

Facilitating Dialogue
Where are we with dialogue? As a community science communicators have embraced the idea of dialogue. What have we learnt along the way? What works and what doesn't? How can dialogue events help us tackle controversy? An opportunity for those facilitating or interested in facilitating dialogue to share experiences.
