Dear all, News of a workshop that might be of interest: Curating, Presenting and Preserving New Media Art Steve Dietz (USA), Beryl Graham (UK) 8 Sept, Morning, Workshop A08, Paris, France. This workshop addresses issues of curating, exhibiting, collecting, and presenting network-based and new media art in an institutional context from both practical and theoretical perspectives. Beginning with a brief history of net art and digital art, the workshop will review several case studies and discuss alternative approaches to selecting and presenting the work; practical experiences with installation; intellectual property issues; the economics of commissioning and presenting new media art; and institutional policies regarding collecting and conserving new media art, specifically the Variable Media initiative.
