It is true that informal networks are more democratic, but democracy is not always a relevant concept; if you wanted a diagnosis about a brain tumour you would ask a brain surgeon, not take a democratic vote amongst the patients and staff; the question here is, are curators brain surgeons or politicians? :-) Fin
