An irregular deposit of low grade cobalt/nickel ore was found in a
haematite mine on Moel Hiraddug, Flintshire in about 1869.  The deposit
was worked until about 1880 when cheap imports made further extraction
uneconomic.  Over 1900 tons of ore were raised.
