Up to five PhD studentships,
available from September 2003 and with a duration of
three years, are now being offered in the Department of Theatre,
Film and/or Television
Studies under the supervision of Professor
Drama and/or Theatre
Studies under the supervision of Richard Gough, Dr. Daniel
Meyer-Dinkgrafe, Dr. David Ian Rabey, Professor Ioan Williams.
Performance Studies under the
supervision of Richard Gough and Professor Mike Pearson.
Welsh Language Theatre,
Film and/or Television under the supervision of Dr. Roger Owen
and/or Professor Ioan Williams.
The successful candidates in any of these
fields will be working in an area with a strong research culture. The

These full-time studentships will include
fees at the home student rate and maintenance for three years. The level of the
award is £9,000 p.a. plus fees plus study allowance of £500 p.a. for research
travel, conferences etc. Candidates should have an MA and/or a good first
degree, plus some research experience in a relevant field of study. Applicants
will be asked to outline in detail their proposed research project, and in
awarding the studentships the panel will take into account both the
project’s inherent merit and its congruence with existing research
