The postholder will be required to contribute to the teaching and development of journalism, undertake high quality research and contribute to administration. Applicants must have a first or second class honours degree or a higher degree, have relevant experience of working in newspaper journalism, and be able to demonstrate a record of significant journalistic achievement. For appointment to a permanent post, candidates must have a proven track record of high quality research publications in peer-reviewed academic journals and/or research-oriented books or equivalent forms of public output which may include practice-based research output. Candidates at an earlier stage of their research career with proven evidence of research potential will be considered for a fixed-term three-year appointment. The post is located at the Coleraine campus but will involve a substantial amount of teaching at the Belfast campus during academic year 2003/2004.
