ADC-LTSN 3rd Annual Forum Wednesday 9 July 2003, Ort House, London NW1, 10am-4pm Inclusion - Developing the Curriculum within a Widening Participation Agenda Dear Colleague The ADC-LTSN Annual Forum this year is taking the theme of Inclusion - Developing the Curriculum within a Widening Participation agenda. Mike Adams, Director of the National Disability Team will introduce the theme in the Keynote speech and the event will be chaired by David Vaughan, Principal of Cumbria Institute of the Arts, and Chair of the ADC-LTSN Management Board. ADC-LTSN has a particular responsibility for subjects taught in your department. Our activities over the last year have included hosting a national event on Widening Participation, running a series of regional workshops on Employability and Inclusion in the Creative Industries, as well as funding Learning and Teaching and Pedagogic Research projects, the further development of our website, including a new resources database and the continuing success of our refereed journal, Art, Design & Communication in Higher Education. In our third annual forum, workshop sessions, facilitated by individuals awarded project funding by ADC-LTSN, will explore three sub-themes of Employability, HE in FE and Disabilities, including a consideration of curriculum development at Level 1. There will also be opportunities for projects and subject associations to disseminate information through posters, documentation and discussion with forum participants. The Forum is an opportunity for our departmental contacts to meet, share good practice through the discussion as well as offering networking opportunities. The event is free of charge and lunch and all refreshments will be provided. If you are not the Head of Department or nominated ADC departmental contact, please bring this event to their attention and discuss with other colleagues to ensure that your department is represented.
