UKOLUG, the professional body for users and developers of electronic
information resources present a 
new course as part of their autumn 2003 meetings programme, aimed at
information professionals who need 
to be ethically aware, particularly in a rapidly evolving age of new
information and communication technologies. 
 
Jonathon Gordon-Till, Information Manager at AON Consulting is the course
organiser. Jonathon was a 
member and sometime Chair of the Ethics Working Party of the Institute of
Information Scientists, and 
is presently a member of CILIP's Ethics Panel.  Amongst the speakers will be
Graham Cornish, 
Bernard Naylor and Ralph Adam. 

This meeting will cover the background to Information Ethics (philosophical
and practical issues); 
Teaching Ethics in LIS Curricula & Ethical Awareness; Applied Ethics in
Practice and will include breakout, 
feedback and panel sessions.

This course is to be hosted in Central London at CILIP headquarters on
Wednesday 29th October 2003
from 09.30 - 16.30 and is open to both members and non-members of UKOLUG.  
Prices are £130 for members £160 for non-members + Vat
Note a 15% discount will be given if you or a colleague from the same
institution attend both this meeting and Coping With Copyright on 28
October. Some places are  still available for the Patents for Non-Patent
People course on the 7th October.
