The appointment was announced by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport on January 24. > > Dr McKee joins British Library Chief Executive Lynne Brindley, whose appointment to the Board was announced at the same time, in a move that will significantly strengthen the library and information domain> '> s representation in Resource. > > "> Resource is entering a critical phase of its developmental work both across the museums-archives-libraries sector and in each of its three main professional domains,> "> Dr McKee said when his appointment was announced. Adding that it was important for Resource, in moving forward, to engage with the whole of the library and information domain, he said > "> I see part of my role on the Board as helping Resource to make the necessary connections across the complete library-information-knowledge continuum of professional practice and service.> "> > Describing them as > "> two of the leading figures in the library world> "> , Resource> '> s Acting Chairman Mark Wood added: > "> Lynne Brindley and Bob McKee bring great authority and expertise to the Resource Board and will help ensure Resource delivers effectively across all the domains for which it has responsibility.> "> > > Resource was established in 2000 out of the former Library and Information Commission (LIC) and Museums and Galleries Commission (MGC), as an advisory body to government with a cross-domain agenda that also includes archives. Both Bob McKee and Lynne Brindley are former members of the LIC Board.
