Chichester College Assistant Librarian (Maternity Cover) Until December 2003 (and maybe longer) Starting salary £14,429 per year (Pay Review August 2003) Chichester College is a large general further education college, offering a broad spectrum of courses across all 14 LSC-designated curriculum areas from foundation to HND level. This year we have enrolled over 10,000 students aged 14-90 from over 70 different countries. The Chichester Campus Library supports learners across the whole range of provision. It has some 25,000 books, subscribes to over 200 periodicals, stocks videos, tapepacks, DVDs, slides and a growing range of online resources. In the 2002/03 internal Self-Assessment Report Learning Resources was awarded a Grade One (Excellent), and in the annual Teaching and Learning Survey students gave the Library a 94% satisfaction rating (May 2003 - over 4,000 responses). The main responsibilities of the Assistant Librarian are: Staffing the enquiry and circulation desks Liaising with teaching staff regards stock and service development Developing and delivering induction and information skills sessions Developing the Library’s online resources The post is full-time (37.5. hours per week), all year round (with 22 days Annual Leave per year), involves some evening and Saturday work during Term- Time - and is immediately available.
